Description
Summary:The Holy Qur’an is Allah almighty’s word which He sent down to His Prophet Mohammed (salla Allah alaihi wa sallam). He put it on seven dialects to make it easier for people to learn it because they are either old or young, male or female. In addition, these seven dialects are meant to be an explanation for each other, so these dialects or more correctly said, some of them became part of the modes of recitation which are known nowadays, and which were attributed to a particular imam. After the expansion and multiplicity of sciences, it has been found that a lot of reciters do not understand anything in the explanation of modes of recitation. This is the problem. Since this explanation is related to Allah’s Book so this topic is significant. The objective of this research was to introduce the various modes of recitations and the difference between them. The researcher adopted in this study the descriptive analytical approach. The results that the researcher found are as follows. The Holy Quran was revealed to the Prophet in seven dialects to make people’s task towards Allah’s Book easy, because among them there is the weak, the helpless and the aging elderly. The explanation is related to the language, grammar, interpretation, drawing, and many more. In explanation, the most preferred is the interpretation and exegesis of Qur’an’s verses by other verses. In addition, the more preferred opinion is that it is permissible to use the science of explanation in stating, explaining and clarifying the Qur'anic modes of recitation. Those who ban using it have disagreed with the Prophet’s Companions’ practice. It is not a condition that the linguistic aspect should be strong in explaining the Qur'anic modes of recitation which is permissible even if it is weak, and that if the two modes of recitation totally disagreed in meaning, they will be considered to be like two actual verses of the Qur’an.
