Genotypic and allelic frequencies of HF1 (rs11549465) variation in association with antropometric indices and lipid profile in Malay obese attributes

Globesity will be affecting more than one billion people by 2030 nod is associated with diseases like diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease. Hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIFI) is a protein and trascriptional factor, which is a major regulator of oxygen homeostasis. Our obj...

Hypoxia-inducible factor 1 (HIFI) is a protein and trascriptional factor, which is a major regulator of oxygen homeostasis. Our objective was to determine the genotypic and allelic frequency of HIF1 (rsl 11549465) variation in correlation with anthropometric indices and lipid profile in Malay obese attributes using RFLP-PCR and statistical analysis. This was a case control study with a total of 180 subjects (90 obese and 90 non-obese) recruited form record of Malaysian obesity DNA bank. We found according to means of genotypic and allelic frequencies of HIF1 (rs 11549465) variation in the sample group, there is lack of TT genotype in both obese and control groups, and there was no difference between both groups according to allelic frequencies, which in obese were (C 100% vs T 15.6% ) and in controls (C 100% vs T 17.8%), while C is the wild type and T is the mutated allele. 2018 Conference or Workshop Item NonPeerReviewed image en http://eprints.unisza.edu.my/1222/1/FH03-FP-19-24375.jpg image en http://eprints.unisza.edu.my/1222/2/FH03-FP-19-24376.jpg Atif, Amin Baig and Ahmad Zubaidi, A.latif and Nordin, Simbak (2018) Genotypic and allelic frequencies of HF1 (rs11549465) variation in association with antropometric indices and lipid profile in Malay obese attributes.
