Summary:The transfer, adaptation and diffusIOn of modern technology and skills from transnational corporations (TNC) to our local industries has been a crucial element in the industrial plans of Malaysla. From time to time, conflicts do result from the present mechanism whenever technology is transfered from the TNC to Malaysia. An attempt is made here to focus on a few of the important issues and basic features concerning the roles and effects of technology transfer to Malaysia. This paper will provide a basic framework for consideration by our enterpreneurs and they should realise that industrial technology is beneficial and can be applied realistically, appropriately and effectively to our industnal setting.
