Summary:Lecturers in the Faculty of Education at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) first developed Internet-based subject since 1997. The first Internet-based subject that was developed in the Faculty of Education is “Computer Literacy”. It was developed using html coding. This paper will attempt to describe a brief history of e-learning and evolution of e-learning at UTM as well as problems encountered and solutions to these problems. Examples of e-learning research and development experiences at UTM will also be described in this paper.
