Step-up characteristics are achieved without using any transformer, coupled inductor, voltage multiplier cell, switched inductor/switched capacitor in the proposed topology. All semiconductor devices operate under soft-switching conditions. Consequently, the converter has high efficiency. The auxiliary circuit is not located in the main power path, and the control circuit remains PWM. All advantages of interleaved topologies are gathered in the proposed converter. The converter efficiency is equal to 97.6% at nominal power. All mentioned benefits candidate the converter to use in photovoltaic applications. A 200 W prototype of the converter is constructed and tested in the laboratory.
