This study considers electricity sector reform in Malaysia and proposes a market structure for the industry. We focus on the single-buyer model and the pool model for the analysis with the recommendation on reform stages required to ensure a smooth and successful market transition. A smooth transition from regulated market into deregulated market will ensure market stability and sustainability of the energy market. It will also provide enough time for the market participants to adapt and transit from regulated to deregulated energy market. 2021 Elsevier Ltd Final 2023-05-29T09:05:51Z 2023-05-29T09:05:51Z 2021 Short Survey 10.1016/j.jup.2021.101266 2-s2.0-85110720163 https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-85110720163&doi=10.1016%2fj.jup.2021.101266&partnerID=40&md5=737f9223246eae098766238e24923ac5 https://irepository.uniten.edu.my/handle/123456789/25979 72 101266 Elsevier Ltd Scopus
