The training dataset for GLM is designed in order to make it feasible for the measurand extraction. The advantage of using this method is that it is fast as compared to conventional method where the determination of Brillouin frequency shift (BFS) and then translating BFS to temperature or strain can be eliminated. The results of temperature distribution along the fiber between the conventional method and GLM shows comparable accuracy. 2020 IEEE.
