The model developed is called SVM (Space Vector Modulation). It is believes that this SVM can helps in converting the three phase power supply into DC and supplies the energy to the train for braking system. The main focus in this project is three phase to DC conversion. A MATLAB Simulink software is used to design SVM system. The output to be observed is the DC waveform whereas the input is the three phase waveforms. The three phase waveforms eventually converted into DC waveform, which is a straight line along the time axis in the oscilloscope. Various analysis will be carried out to study the conversions. Six MOSFETs are used to convert the three phase into DC. Each MOSFET is controlled by a sequence of pulse. An inductive will be connected across the output of the six MOSFETs to show the DC waveform. The arrangement and the control of six MOSFETs is called SVM.
