description This project was to introduce a new technique in measuring temperature using PC sound card instead of costly data acquisition card. Beside that, the system was also to show that instead of recording high frequency signals, PC sound card can be used to capture slow varying signal from mechanical quantities especially temperature. The system was an extension from the finding made by three of Universiti Tenaga Nasional lecturers in low frequency signal monitoring in Matlab/Simulink environment using PC sound card. The complete system was successfully used to control and monitor the temperature in a modeled space at a specified setpoint or maximum temperature. Both controlling and monitoring elements were working together without any problem or conflict between them.
