Marion A/P Francis Automobile Quality Control FYP 2 SEM 1 2019/ 2020 ABSTRACT The automobile industry contains a wide scope of associations engaged with the vehicle manufacturing and improvement, hence it is one of the world's biggest monetary segments by income. Globalization, digitalization and expanding rivalry in the market are changing the outline of the industry from time to time which made manufacturing industries as such to move towards quality control. Numerous organizations changed their consideration on operational management program lately from applying the tools and methods of the program in endeavoring to adjust it with their predominant organizational culture. Moreover, most developed organization often understate quality improvement due to lack of operational management acknowledgement and recognition of connection between aspects of quality improvisation in a stabilized production system which eventually leads to downfall. In reference to the thesis title, The Longitudinal Study on Imprint’s of Quality Control in Industry of Automobile, the objectives are to examine the relationship between organizational culture and quality improvement processes, to analyse the effect of degree of quality improvement implementation based on engineering methods and to propose the engineering method layout on how achievement of one aspect of quality improvisation could impact another in production line. Six-Sigma execution utilizes five stages DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control) methodology to build association benefits by advancing activities, enhancing quality and dispensing with the imperfections in an automobile industry. The five stages are rundown through the available findings and tools are utilized to improvise or solve the root cause of the problems in the production line. DMAIC tools are utilized throughout the experiment and several analysis approaches are used to justify the outcome of the finding while deriving an alternative solution for the root cause. In regard to the analysis approaches, the two methods used are line balancing and bottleneck approach respectively, whereby longitudinal study is augmented and comparison are made. In a nutshell, the accomplishment in problem solving phase directly contributes to attainment of every objectives proposed as justified by the increase of target per hour and decrease of cycle time based on the annual results.
