| Summary: | A new worldwide issue for water quality is emerging contaminants. These substances are usually resistant to traditional wastewater treatment methods and pose serious risks to human health and aquatic habitats once they enter the environment. This study summarizes current developments and obstacles in the field of photocatalytic wastewater treatment using polymer nanocomposites, nanoparticles, and nanocomposites as photocatalysts. This study summarizes current developments and obstacles in the field of photocatalytic wastewater treatment using polymer nanocomposites, nanoparticles, and nanocomposites as photocatalysts. The review gives a general overview of the underlying ideas behind photocatalytic treatment as well as an update on recent developments in the field. Particular attention is paid to modification tactics and operating settings that improve treatment effectiveness and remove organic contaminants that are difficult to remove. The polymer nanocomposites AgNPs, CNT, graphene oxide, ZnO, and TiO2 that are employed as photocatalytic materials in nanoscale organic processes for the breakdown of organic pollutants have been the special focus of our attention. Additionally, some restrictions and the project's potential future scope have been covered. The review will help researchers and responsible authorities working on water conservation and management develop more potent tactics utilizing polymer nanocomposites. |
