Description
Summary:This research mainly deals with the adsorption of surfactant on coconut husk. Surfactants which have been discharged by industries and households contrihute to water pollution. They not only cause hazardous effects to aquatic life but also create health problems to human. Thus. surfactants must be removed from wastewaters. There are many choice of removal but adsorption has been widely used due to cost cutting reason. Raw agricultural waste has been used in this research instead of activated carbon because agricultural waste are very abundant and environment friendly. The objective of this study is to find the performance of coconut husk as adsorbent. Three types of surfactant have been used that are SOS, Brij-35 and C,.N,S.Two parameter involved which are concentration of surfactants and dose of adsorbent. Result indicated that coconut husk adsorb more Brij-35 than other surfactants and the lowest adsorption was on SOS.
