| description | We created a multifunctional pen with multipurpose use. This pen is practical for health worker especially doctors and nurses. Some of the features of this pen are different types of colour (green, red, blue, and black), rubber calculator, digital clock, and pen light. We propose four different types of colours for this pen because usually the health workers especially nurses need to record some details of their patients using different colours. For example, if the patient’s baseline data is normal, nurses will record the data in blue or black pen colour. However if there is any abnormal reading, the red colour pen will be used. The green colour is usually used for intensive care unit (ICU) nurses to record some data finding. By gathering these four different colours of pen, we will save the space of storage in nurses’ pocket. They need to only have one pen instead of several pens of different colours. Secondly, we included the rubber calculator because nurses need to do some calculation such as calculation of medication dosage. Using the rubber calculator in this pen, they will look professional when using this calculator instead of using their hand phones in front of the patients and family members. By having this pen, all health care workers have their own calculator. Thirdly, we include digital clock on this instead of analog clock because the health workers can set time needed. For example, to count the pulse rate within one minute, they just set it for 60 seconds and wait for alarm beep when the time is up. Thus by attaching this pen light in this pen, they will put in one pocket with only one device. The technology we used for this pen is using solar energy for digital clock and rubber calculator. Rubber calculator feature is like by folding it in the pen. In addition, this pen also has a pen light with LED light which works on batteries. We designed this pen as to be user friendly. This pen is easy to hold, easy to grip and easy to write without any fingers ache if they write in long hours. In conclusion, this HCP Friendly Pen is created to ease health workers task, save space and convenient for health staffs. |
