Summary:Government and private sector are working together to conserve the heritage buildings. This is one of the initiatives by both sectors to maintain the heritage assets. Conservation is a technical activity that involved in a physical action to protect the heritage buildings from any decay and to extend the life span of the buildings. However, there are heritage mosques that have difficulties to conserved and sometimes they are left abandoned or in a poor condition. This research is more focusing on the heritage mosques in Penang with the aim to analyse the conservation of heritage mosques in UNESCO World Heritage Site, George Town in Penang. The objectives of this research are to identify the heritage mosques, to determine the conservation of heritage mosques and to determine the mosque elements affected in conservation of heritage mosques in UNESCO World Heritage Site George Town Penang. In order to achieve the objectives, qualitative method of study will be applied by doing observations to the elements in the mosques that have been conserved.
