Description
Summary:The library is the main reference point for a higher learning institution. The information source provided to the user needs to be in line with institutional requirements and in accordance with the latest technology circulation. However, constraints from financial resources cause the diversity of information sources to be available to Library users. In order to overcome the insufficiency of reference materials at the Sultan Azlan Shah Polytechnic Library (PSAS), borrowing through the Publication Supply System (SPP) Services will be used for that purpose to the Library or other agency that has been identified to have the reference material. The borrowing process take a multi process and take a long time. Applications that have been received will be notified to the user and Library, PSAS will record and make storage. The process of borrowing a repetitive reference material for a user's use, a long period of time and storage requirements has led the LibPSAS group to implement brainstorming to address this problem. Thus elib2u is developed by taking into the structure and content of the material, the user experience, the ease of access, compatibility among users and using the existing database of the Library, PSAS. The 'one click you get more' concept implemented in this elib2u system can help users search more than one source of material search. The LibPSAS Group has chosen ten (10) popular reference sources among Library users such as journals, books, exam papers, Malaysian acts, index, media resources, newspaper cutting, repositories and archives of PSAS in the same database. Users can only access elib2u by browsing the PSAS website, scan QR codes and OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog). LibPSAS Group initiative develops elib2u is seen not only to support learning and teaching activities in PSAS but also to assist organizations in operating cost savings, EKSA and support Poly-green programs.
