Summary:As we entered into the Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0, human settlements are facing unpredictable environmental risks. The increase in greenhouse gases (GHG) emission, segregation of communities based on ethnic and income level, economic imbalance and physical over-development had impacted the sustainability of human settlements. At present, most of the country developments are mostly driven by urbanisation and sub-urbanisation. Thus, one of the main sustainability concerns lies on the built (urban) environment. Therefore, a basic understanding on the subject matter and the way to address the issue of sustainability echoes the main content of this book. In this book, the common intention of the authors is to in moving towards the sustainable agenda. Chapter 1 focuses on the Green Township Development and the use of Post Occupancy Evaluation Model (POEM) in reviewing the functional, operational and strategic performance of the built environment. This chapter also demonstrates how neoliberalism of sustainable development in the planning system.
