This study is conducted to determine screen reading habits and find the frequency of online materials read among English Language and English Education students in university. A questionnaire that was adapted from “Screen reading habits among university students” by Tim Vandenhoek and “The Reading Habits of Malaysian Chinese University Students” by Dr Mohamad Jafre Zainol Abidin, Majid Pour-Mohammadi and Ooi Choon Lean, was used to analyse the screen reading habits among university students and the results were analysed using percentage value. The findings suggest that most of the students are reading online materials more than printed materials and although they spend more time on the Internet, it cannot be confirmed that they are reading because their preferences play an important role in determining the type of online material they are reading, and the amount of time spent on reading online materials. |
