总结:Human activity is causing a long-term shift in the earth's climatic system which is referred as climate change. Nowadays, climate change is brought on by a number of reasons, including air pollution, population growth and industrialization all of which capable in degrade the earth's atmosphere and alter the makeup of the atmosphere. Energy efficiency is the energy sector's most powerful climate change weapon, giving it a powerful instrument for lowering greenhouse gas emissions. More than a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions in Malaysia are attributed to building energy use. Malaysia's growth has resulted in the expansion and development of higher education institutions to serve the increasing number of international as well as local students. As a result, the growth of higher education institutions has shifted to the detrimental impact of climate change on energy consumption. Therefore, the aims of this study are to conduct energy analysis for demanding purposes within UNIMAS colleges, investigate the energy utilization in UNIMAS colleges and suggest the corrective measures for energy efficiency improvement using Green Building Index (GBI). The significance of this study is to ensure that the UNIMAS residential colleges understand the importance and benefits of energy efficiency in buildings, develop a broad sense of awareness and understanding of energy conservation among students and the university's committee, and improve building energy efficiency and potential savings. Additionally, this research briefly discussed the methodology used for conducting energy analysis on demanding purposes and design the corrective measures for energy efficiency improvement for UNIMAS colleges. The parameters involved such as the power consumption, number of students and staffs, hours of electricity usage, floor area of the buildings as well as number of demand purposes has been evaluated to determine the trend of energy analysis for the three months. As a result, several graphs have been obtained and all the energy efficiency improvement in terms of GBI and other energy saving strategies have been prescribed.
