Description
Summary:Glass in the system (100- x)TeO2-( x)SnCl2, x = 1, 3, 5 mol% have been prepared by the melt quenching technique. Elastic properties have been studied to investigate the role of SnCl2 on the structure of the glass system. Elastic properties, Poisson's ratio, and Debye temperature have been investigated using sound wave velocity measurement at 4 MHz ultrasonic frequency at room temperature. The result showed that the density of the glass increase with the content of SnCl2. The effect of modifier on elastic properties of the glass systemhas also been discussed.
