| Summary: | In this modern technology world, there a lot of technology that has been used in the world of business especially in inventory management since it is become crucial for the business and it can determine the growth of business and it success. There a lot of approach that can be used to manage inventory. In this project, an inventory system with stock tracking notification which is called NotiTrack, is introduced to help ABA Bookstore in managing their inventory. NotiTrack is a system of managing and monitoring inventory on academic book as well as for tracking down the stock of book. Currently, ABA Bookstore faced problem where sometimes they have the difficulty in tracking stock because they lost track of how many stock left after it has been sold and sometimes they did not aware of out-of-stock items because of not having a proper inventory system management. Therefore, by developing NotiTrack system which can help them in track their stock and with this NotiTrack mobile application that using barcode scanner technology that embedded within the apps as well as received notification on near out of stock book. The use of this barcode scanner is to scan the barcode on the book and capture it ID to send to the database and deduct the quantity of the book ID. When the times come, which is the quantity of the book is near out of stock that has been set on the NotiTrack web application, the user will receive the notification about the near out of stock book so that user will aware of it. Mobile Application Development Life Cycle (MADLC) methodology was used to develop NotiTrack system. The phases involve in the methodology are Identification, Design, Develop and Prototyping. As the result, this system is able to keep track of book stock in the ABA Bookstore. For the future work, NotiTrack system can be expanded use on other item as well such as stationery and also this system could be available for all version of mobile platform. |
